A transfer admission agreement (TAA), is a written contract outlining the courses, units, and grade point average you will have prior to your transfer to Cal State Monterey Bay. This contract can be obtained from the community college you attend. A TAA must be approved by both your community college and CSUMB.

 

An approved TAA guarantees that you will be admitted to the CSUMB for the specified term, provided you complete the terms of the agreement.  Under this agreement, your $55 application fee will be waived as well.

TAA Requirements

Be a California resident.

Apply for fall admission on csumentor.edu.

Submit your TAA application during the fall application filing period.  The TAA contract can be obtained through you Community College Transfer Center.

Meet all upper-division transfer requirements prior to your fall transfer.

Note:  Some community colleges have additional requirements, such as a minimum amount of units required at that college.


How do I submit a TAA to CSU Monterey Bay?

Meet with your community college counselor to fill out a TAA contract. You will review and sign it together.

Fill out the online application for regular admissions on csumentor.edu.

Select the "pay by check" option. Your $55 application fee will be waived if your TAA is approved. You do not need to mail a check to our office.

Once you have submitted your application through csumentor.edu, print out a copy of the CSU Monterey Bay Application Agreement Statement and turn it in to the Community College Transfer Center.

The Community College Transfer Center staff will send the TAA form, Application Agreement Statements, and transcripts to the Office of Admissions.

If approved, you will be notified via email and offered conditional admission.

Your offer of admissions is conditional upon you completing the courses outlined on your TAA. Your final transcripts will be reviewed to ensure this. You must also meet all the posted deadlines of a regular upper division transfer student.
